Venue Ensemble Theatre (VET) is scheduled to present
LATER LIFE by A.R. Gurney
February 12-28, 2010
at Venue Theatre
Pinellas Park, FL.
"Later Life" tells what happens when Austin, a Boston banker, is unexpectedly thrown together at a cocktail party with Ruth, a woman he met as a serviceman one night in Capri 30-odd years ago. As a young man, he let Ruth get away. Given a second chance in "Later Life," will the outcome be different?
Director Kathy Richter is currently casting for LATER LIFE.
The remaining role to be filled is that of "Other Men".
In Gurney fashion, one actor plays 5 distinctly different characters
(age range 50-70).
May consider several actors to cover this role.
Character Description for "Other Men":
The characters are real people and should not be played as cartoons or caricatures. Quick costume changes will be required.
Jim: witty gay gentleman with a nicotine addiction who is constantly trying to
quit smoking
Roy: retiree who wants to leave Boston and relocate to Florida despite his wife's protests.
Duane: computer geek
Ted: an "everyday Southern guy" who just moved to Boston with his wife and is
enjoying the city
Walt: a middle-aged man who is pushing his divorced friend to begin dating
Auditions are by appointment and will normally be scheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday evenings in November.
To schedule an audition appointment, please send a copy of your resume and headshot to:
Mary Kay Cyrus, rrc_va@hotmail.com , subject line: Later Life Audition.
Please indicate your best availability for an audition date and also your availability for rehearsals (daytime/evening/weekends).
